Ortelius used Mercator's 8-sheet wall map of the British Isles (1564) as his source for this map, first published 1573. Oriented with North to the right. There is no printed page number on the verso to help with positive dating, there is an ink manuscript number 10 in the top right corner.

Probably published in the seventh edition of J.Fairbairn's "Traveller's Guide through Scotland and its Islands" and engraved by J. & G. Menzies. John Thomson & Co. was possibly the publisher.
