Original outline colour; fairly extensive expert restoration to old folds and margins, overall quite presentable now.
A spectacular map of the Netherlands, with prospects of Amsterdam, Middelburg, Utrecht and Gronningen, also a view of King William's palace. Inset chart showing the location with the English coast and the North Sea.

Uncoloured; expert restoration to centrefold and margins with no loss of printed surface. Also slight browning to centrefold caused by guard paste residue, otherwise despite these listed faults it is quite presentable.
A rare map of The Netherlands by Petrus Kærius, possibly from an atlas by Mercator-Hondius. Jodocus Hondius was married to Keere's sister Coletta who, along with her sons Jodocus II and Henricus, continued to publish after the death of the elder Jodocus. This highly detailed map covers an area from Gent to south of Oostende and names Brugge, Aadenburg, Knokke (Cnocke) and Heist.

A map of the Netherlands during the War of the Spanish Succession. In this theatre of war the French, together with the garrisons of the Spanish Netherlands had fortified a line of defence over 70 miles long between Antwerp and Huy. Marlborough concentrated 60,000 men (only 12,000 British) about Nijmwegen in June and in early July advanced directly by Hamont on Diest. Boufflers fell back, in order to regain the Brabant lines. Marlborough's objective was to bring about a confrontation and awaited the arrival of Boufflers tired army. But at the critical moment the Dutch authorites forbade the battle, content to see the army that had threatened Holland with invasion driven off to a safe distance without bloodshed. After this Marlborough thought to pacify the Dutch by besieging the fortresses along the River e and the campaign closed with the capture of Liege, Oct 12 1702.

Uncoloured; trimmed close on three sides, as is often the case, with minor loss of printed line border on the right hand side, very short centrefold split in the upper margin, otherwise a superb example of the 1676 edition on thicker paper; a dark impression.
First published 1627 in Speed’s 'Prospect of the World'. This map of the 17 provinces of the Low Countries in the early 17th century displays along the top border eight bird's-eye views of cities; including Amsterdam, Antwerp, Ghent, Middleburg, Groningen, Zutphen, Utrecht and Maastricht. Down the sides ten costume vignettes form the borders. An English text "Description of Belgia" is on verso.

Caricature map, published in "Geographical Fun. Humorous Outlines of Various Countries"', priced five shillings. The map was supposedly drawn by a fifteen year old girl, with the verse underneath by 'Aleph', a pseudonym for William Harvey (1796-1873). He was a popular journalist and author of 'London Scenes and London People...', published in 1863. "Dame Holland" holds "Master Belgium" in her arms. Despite his childish long hair and skirts, Belgium is smoking a cheroot.
